Small changes in the way you live your life can decrease your risk of having a stroke.  Start small and build upon your changes.  Consult your health care team whenever possible to help you work through how to incorporate lifestyle changes.  A useful resource titled Understanding Stroke and TIA Prevention has been developed by the Champlain Regional Stroke Network.  Another useful resource covering the topic of stroke prevention is the Updated Guide for Stroke Recovery developed by the Toronto Stroke Networks.  This resource has a number of worksheets to help you incorporate healthy lifestyle changes.
